SINGAPORE: At the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Myanmar, Singapore's wushu exponents exceeded their target of three medals to return home with five medals.
The mainly young squad clinched one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
They received a warm welcome by a group of 80 parents and supporters at the airport on Saturday.
Also in the welcoming party was president of Singapore Wushu Dragon & Lion Dance Federation (SWDLDF), Liang Eng Hwa, who is also the MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC.
Mr Liang said the results showed that the Federation's development plan is on track.
He is also confident the young athletes will achieve even better results on home soil at the SEA Games in 2015.
