SINGAPORE: The Singapore Sports Hub will open completely in mid-June and all its facilities, including the new National Stadium, will be open to the public.
SportsHub (SHPL) gave this update in a media release on Tuesday. It said 95 per cent of the Sports Hub will be completed by April.
SHPL said the Sports Hub will have a phased opening as this will enable it to test its systems thoroughly.
It will also be able to ramp up operations at a controlled pace, given the scale and complexity of the project.
SHPL said safety and quality of experience at the Sports Hub are paramount and these will not be compromised.
The Sports Hub will have a soft opening in mid-April, when the Singapore Sports Museum, Sports Hub Library, OCBC Aquatic Centre and the Water Sports Centre will open.
Selected sports bodies, partners as well as grassroots and community groups will be invited for the soft opening.
SHPL will then conduct its community open house in mid-May.
This will feature sports carnival weekends for invited community groups.
Facilities that will open during this period include Splash-N-Surf, the OCBC Arena and the development's retail mall.
