Gaza rockets hit Israel as ceasefire expiry nears: army

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has said that rockets from the Gaza Strip have landed in Israel just hours before a 72-hour ceasefire was due to expire. 

JERUSALEM:  The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has said that rockets from the Gaza Strip have landed in Israel just hours before a 72-hour ceasefire was due to expire. 

"Just now, two rockets fired from Gaza hit southern Israel. No injuries reported," the army said in a text message to journalists ahead of the 0500 GMT (1pm Singapore time) deadline for the truce to be renewed or end. "Terrorists have violated the cease-fire," the IDF added on its official Twitter site.
