Update On Incident Along Nicoll Highway
LTA has started to carry out repair as the first stage
of recovery works. Concrete is being poured into the cracks in some
areas at the perimeter of the incident site. This is to stabilise
the ground and to prevent water seepage. We will carry out these
works without affecting SCDF's rescue operations in the area.
The surrounding buildings have been assessed to be
safe for use by the BCA and LTA. LTA is monitoring, and there is
no further ground movements in this area as well as in the area
around the Merdeka Bridge and Crawford Underpass.
Traffic Situation
There is no change to the traffic diversion plans
(See
Annex A).
Traffic along the East Coast Parkway (between Marine
Parade and Rochor Road) is experiencing normal peak hour traffic
conditions.
Traffic is also heavy along Kallang Road up to Geylang
Road. We have been monitoring the traffic situation there and adjusted
the traffic signals to cater to the heavier city-bound traffic.
