The 2009 Singapore Night Race will be held in Singapore from 25 - 27 September 2009. To facilitate the setting up and removing of the temporary race infrastructure, there will be a series of gradual road closures in the Marina Centre area from 23-29 September 2009.

Race organisers will also be beefing up public transport services during the road closure period and during the race weekend, up to 650 more train trips will be added, which will run until 1.15am.

Unlike last year, all taxis will be allowed to enter restricted areas, without the need for special F1 decals. However, this does not apply to race hours when only vehicles with F1 decals will be allowed in. Race hours are from 9pm to 11pm on September 25 and 26, and from 7pm to 10pm on September 27.

Taxis which are not on call bookings or ferrying passengers with guest passes will also not be allowed into the restricted roads during the morning peak hours, from 5am to 9.30am.

If you take public transport

There will be a free bridging service connecting City Hall and Bugis MRT stations to the Marina Centre area. Public bus services travelling through the Padang and Marina Centre area will be diverted. Download the Road Access & Public Transport Guide for more information on free bridging bus service and locations of alternative bus stops for diverted service.

All pedestrian underpasses (eg CityLink Mall) as well as existing overhead bridges in the area will remain open.

All MRT services will run until 1.15am from Friday, 25 September 2009 to Sunday 27 September 2009.

If you take taxi

Taxis will be allowed into the Marina Centre area to pick up and drop off passengers at the taxi stands as indicated on the maps in the Road Access & Public Transport Guide. However, during the morning and peak hours, only taxis ferrying passengers with valid hotel guest passes or on call-booking assignments will be allowed entry into the Marina Centre area.

If you take drive

Plan your journey in advance. Please refer to the maps in the Road Access & Public Transport Guide for the complete list of road access timings and locations.

Three of the four lanes of Nicoll Highway and the stretch from Republic Avenue to Raffles Avenue will be opened to Shenton Way-bound traffic during the morning peak hours on the days indicated overleaf.

Suntec City and Pontiac Millenia car parks remain open, subject to availability.

Download the Road Access & Public Transport Guide for more information on road closures and roads re-opening during the affected periods.
