PARIS 2012

Highest-ranked by Evaluation Commission

Bid slogan: "Love Of The Games"

Bid committee chief: Philippe Baudillon (French diplomat)

Previously hosted Olympics: 1900, 1924

Previous bids: 1992, 2008

Estimated bid cost: $8.4 billion

Bid features: Adopting a "One Village, Two Clusters" concept, the 50-ha Olympic and Paralympic Village can accommodate 17,000 athletes and is 6km from the two main competition venue sites.

Strengths: Most venues already built, including Olympic stadium (Stade de France).

Valuable experience from two previous unsuccessful bids in knowing what IOC want.

Successful staging of 1998 Fifa World Cup and 2003 World Athletics Championship.

Accommodation and transport plans praised. It even has a dedicated Olympic transport lane

Weaknesses: Memory of poor 2008 bid presentation still lingers. French IOC member Guy Drut, a key figure in the Paris 2012 bid, is a defendant in a corruption trial on charges of holding a fictional job in the early 90s.

Supporters: Thierry Henry, Luc Besson, Tony Parker, Zinedine Zidane, Jacques Chirac

Who's coming to Singapore: Luc Besson, Jacques Chirac, Tony Parker
