The state of the economy and NSmen were among issues raised in Parliament on Monday, May 14.
Questions tabled for oral and written reply cover issues such as inflation, restructuring, wages, productivity and population.
On the economy, Minister of State for Manpower Tan Chuan-Jin said what's needed is a comprehensive and active strategy to help low-income families improve their overall quality of life and share in Singapore's continued progress.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen stressed that the safety of servicemen is top priority for his ministry and the Singapore Armed Forces.
