Sushila Krishnan anchors “SouthEast Asia Tonight” which covers the key daily developments in the region.

Sushila’s journey in journalism began in 1989 with the then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation.  Ten years later, Sushila hosted the Business Morning show which launched Channel NewsAsia in 1999. Today, her role includes training of journalists in broadcast voice.

Among the unforgettable breaking news events Sushila hosted were the ouster of the late Indonesian President Suharto in 1998 and the terror attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. Her first day at work now seems like a harbinger of things to come – a coup against then Philippine President Corazon Aquino.

Sushila graduated from the University of Calgary in Canada with a major in English Literature. She is currently studying for her Master of Accounting.

Sushila loves Indian cooking, fast cars, space opera and epic films. She also enjoys going for walks with her Cairn Terrier, Fergie.
