Hi, I’m Steve Morris, your guide for glorious living.
When I was born in 1958, only my father had to work to provide for the quality of life for myself and my four sisters.
Today, two parents have to work to provide that same quality. I think the same is true in Asia, we’re working more and we’re with our children less.
Who’s teaching our children? Who’s shaping their values, are they learning it from school, the television, from their friends?
As adults, it’s our responsibility to practice the virtue of nurturing by being a positive role model, for not just our children but the children in the community.
If you’re going to be a role model, you better polish yourself up a bit. People learn our good habits as well as our bad habits.
So first, we’re going to break a bad habit.
Establish a mind-body connection by rubbing your heart and saying even though I’ve neglected to be a perfect role model, today I choose to be a positive role model for others.
Repeat that twice so that it sticks. Now that you can say it, you can play it. |
