Hi,

Tried calling in but cant get thru. Well, Jurong West areas are having earthquake shaking at 7.15pm sharp. The shaking lasts about 3 mins. The sofa, we were sitting on shaked badly. Not only the East or Town areas, West areas got it too.

Especially people staying at the top floor, got quite shaky.

I live in HYOGO. Ten years ago, my family lived in hyogo and got the disastrous earthquake. At this time I was a college student and is very hard to go home. As soon as I hear this earthquake in the Indonesia, I was reminded of my experience.

What a new exprience that i have on that day. Saturday May 27, 2006, 5.40 am in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, At the time, i already wake up. When i awake, i just have a SMS message from my family in Jakarta. After, i read it, not long of the time, my wife also wake up. And then i let her know about the content of the message. It is about our family matter. After 5-10 minutes of talk, i go to the bathroom. At 5.58 am, when i was out of the bath room to my bed room, suddenly, something shaking presence in our room. For 1-2 seconds, i am still not conscious what thats happen, but with reflect, i say to my wife, let's out, it is an earthquake.

When i go out with my wife, my neighbours not many to out, but when they see us hold in fence, they suddenly followed. The shock is very strong indeed. My wife screaming, Jesus help us..forgive our nation and city..She repeat to screamed very loud with tears. the shake tooks 30-60 seconds.

After finished, many people stand with pale and scared. Not much people wants to go back stay to his/her house. People just took their Phone cell and calls relatives and families. Many damaged because of it. In our neighbourhood, many house were destroy. Many injured. In other places, Thousands injured and died. Many house and bulding crashed.

1-2 hours after, rumours blows. People says, tsunami already come form south beach. hundreds people run off to the stadion in our city and also to the Police Headquarters. Panics everywhere. A lot of kids run with their mom and dad. Me and my wife with our neighbours (a mother and 3 child, on of the child was a baby) go to the Police HQ. We spent 2 hours in the office. After 1-2 hours waiting and clarification from police, we went back home.

But, afternoon and night, we can not sleep or spent time in room or house to long. Feared of continuation earthquake has filled or emotion.

One thing for sure, me and my wife also people thanks to God Jesus because He always there for us and comforted

Received a message via sms from JOG, and the brief message from the event as follow:

"Very bad, need logistic supply immediately, people stay at simple tent in this area, almost no more building, electricity off and heavy rain, oh my dear...am speechless"

On her 2nd sms - "When I was with them I try hard not to cry.."
