The inaugural Singapore Biennale, which starts on September 4 and runs until Nov 12, features 195 artworks by 95 artists from 38 countries.
Held under the theme of “Belief,”
the event embraces 19 venues including churches,
temples, synagogues and mosques. Here’s your guide to getting around:
Start at the Singapore Management
University, where the Biennale Information
Centre is located. You can pick up tickets to
the exhibitions there as well as a short guide -
which sells for $10 - featuring artist profiles, photographs
and maps.
The free shuttle service also
starts there.
Hop onto one of the two shuttle buses that
ply a route between the many venues. The
free buses run every 30 minutes and signs
indicate the pick-up point at each place.
Visit the biennale website at www.singaporebiennale.org for more information on
related events such as talks, lectures and
special events designed to give an added dimension
to the biennale.
