Presenter Profile: Sushila Krishnan

Sushila regularly presents Channel NewsAsia's evening news bulletins.

Her eventful media journey began back in 1989 with the then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation.

In fact, her first day of work in its Teletext department was marked with yet another coup in the Philippines, this time against President Corazon Aquino.

A 3-year stint at AM Singapore soon followed before arriving in the broadcaster's English-language newsroom as a producer in 1997 - facing the camera for the first time before the year was out.

Then, two years later, Sushila and the same morning news team helped launch Channel NewsAsia.

And it was Sushila who went live on TV with Simon Marks on September 11 2001, to alert Asia to the deadly US terror attacks.

Aside from presenting, Sushila coaches her colleagues on broadcast voicing.

She is also part of a team creating an online pronunciation dictionary for MediaCorp.

When not working or studying for her Masters, she enjoys watching blockbuster action movies; reading sci-fi/fantasy novels; nurturing her garden in the sky and lying back in her massage chair scratching her Cairn Terrier's velvet ears.
