 Chijmes used to be a Catholic girls school and convent. Nuns at the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus used to find left at the gate, known as the Gate of Hope, abandoned babies especially in the year of the Tiger because it is believed that Tiger girls bring bad luck to the family.
