BEIJING: A man has died of bird flu in southern China, the second death in the country from the deadly disease in a month, state media reported Thursday.

The 41-year-old man, surnamed Liang, developed a headache and fever on February 12 and died early February 20.

Tests on him were positive for the H5N1 strain of the virus, Xinhua news agency said.
