NEW DELHI: Indian police on Friday distributed sketches of three more young men suspected of involvement in this week's series of bombings in Jaipur that killed 63 people and injured more than 200 others.

The latest sketches were of men believed to have bought bicycles used in the string of explosions on a busy shopping street in the capital of India's Rajasthan state.

The sketches were based on descriptions "from the people who sold them the bicycles", the state's top police official, Amarjot Singh Gill, told AFP.

Detectives had also released a sketch on Wednesday night of a young male suspect who they wanted to interview.

Gill said no one had been formally arrested, adding that police had questioned dozens of people who were later released.

Gill also said police expected to verify later Friday the authenticity of an e-mail and video sent by a little-known group calling itself the Indian Mujahideen, which claimed it had carried out the attacks.

"By today, we should be able to verify the veracity of the mail," he said.

The video showed a bicycle with a serial number that tallied with one of the bicycles used in the blasts, The Times of India reported Friday.

The state's chief minister, Vasundhara Raje, has said an "international terrorist gang" was likely behind the attacks.

Police said they were pleased with the progress of the investigation. But similar bombings in the past have seen few prosecutions.

India has frequently pointed an accusing finger at Pakistan-based groups in past blasts, but this time has been careful not to do so.

The country's foreign minister, Pranab Mukherjee, was due to head to Islamabad on Tuesday to review the progress of the two nations' four-year-old peace process.
