KILLARNEY, Ireland : England's Ross Fisher will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Irish Open on Sunday after seeing his three-stroke overnight advantage gradually eroded.

The 29-year-old leads from compatriot Chris Wood and Italy's Francesco Molinari with Spain's Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano two shots off the lead.

Fisher carded four birdies in the first seven holes but then double bogeyed the par four eighth and bogeyed two of the final four holes to card a par 71 for a 12 under par tournament total.

Wood followed up Friday's 65 with a five under par 66, a round which saw five successive birdies.

"I was hitting really, really nice shots, and the putts," said Wood.

"That's given me a lot of confidence and it?s sort of gone through the rest of my game.

"Ross has still got a healthy lead, but I've given myself half a chance for tomorrow."

Ireland?s Padraig Harrington, who also doubled-bogeyed the eighth, and Australian Richard Green maintained their victory hopes with a pair of 69s that left them nine under par.

"It looked like I was all out of it after the eighth, so I have got to feel reasonably good about things. If I play well (tomorrow) it?s possible to catch anybody out there," said Harrington.

South Korea's Noh Seung-yul Noh and Anders Hansen of Denmark, both shot 70 and are one shot further adrfift.

Wood's 66 was matched only by fellow Englishman Richard Bland who was joined on seven under by Dane Mark F Haastrup and Michael Hoey of Northern Ireland, who shot 67 and 71 respectively. - AFP/fa
