TBILISI - Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili's camp declared victory in a snap presidential election Saturday after an exit poll showed him narrowly winning in a first round.

"This clearly indicates the elections were successful and the next president of Georgia is Mikheil Saakashvili," campaign manager Davit Bakradze told AFP.

"We call on all our opponents to accept the results of this election."
