4.4-magnitude earthquake shakes Bolivia; no casualties

LA PAZ - An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale shook an area close to Bolivia's capital La Paz Friday but caused no damage or casualties, the private seismological San Calixto Observatory said.

The moderate temblor occurred at 1200 GMT with the epicenter in the Saya region, 60 kilometers (40 miles) south of La Paz, it said. - AFP /ls
