WASHINGTON - Investigators have found the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the Continental plane crash outside Buffalo, New York, a National Transportation Safety Board spokesman told AFP.

"They have been found and they are on their way back here," NTSB spokesman Ted Lopatkiewicz said, adding they were expected to arrive by early afternoon.

He said it was unclear how long it would take experts to glean information from the black boxes.

"That depends on what condition they are in," he said.
