Well, If Madonna uses it ...

So, I had a close brush with celebrity a couple of weeks back. I shook hands with someone who knows Madonna.

It counts, no?

Michelle Peck, the Los Angeles-based personal facial therapist of the queen of pop, was in Singapore to launch Intraceuticals Infusion, a hyperbaric oxygen treatment of which Madge is said to be a huge fan.

The facial is reportedly able to deliver instant hydration, instant lift and instant results to the skin.

Besides Madonna - who apparently loves the treatment so much, she has one facial machine in each of her homes in Los Angeles, New York and England - fans of the treatment include celebs such as Eva Longoria and Justin Timberlake.

Intraceuticals Infusion is now available in Singapore, and exclusively at the Grand Hyatt’s Damai spa.

The procedure involves using a machine that shoots jets of pressurised oxygen and serum into the skin to help hydrate it.

I was lucky enough to have a taste of how Hollywood’s elite pamper their faces.

My therapist at Damai assured me that the procedure would not hurt or leave my skin looking as crimson as a baboon’s behind, which might be the case with some facial treatments.

A metal device was used to shoot cold streams of oxygen onto half of my face, so I could see the difference between the treated and non-treated parts.

After the therapist was done, that part of my face did look slightly lifted and more radiant.

The hour-long treatment was painless, though the cold jets of oxygen and serum tickled my face at times.

As I walked out of the room, Michelle commented that my skin was “glowing and looked plumped up”.

Faced with the Material Girl’s facial therapist of four years, I couldn’t resist asking: “How does the 51 year-old look like without make up?”

She gushed: “Madonna has the most luminous, beautiful skin and she takes extremely good care of it, keeping it hydrated and out of the sun. She looks absolutely gorgeous without make up - her skin glows!”

So, there you go - with Intraceuticals Infusion now in Singapore, the secret behind Madge’s youthful-looking skin has been revealed.

Prices for the Intraceuticals Infusion facial treatment start from S$240. Call 6416 7156 for more information.
