HONG KONG: It was an emotional moment for Lydia Sum's daughter Joyce Wednesday when she met the media for the first time after her mother passed away.
Her mother, Hong Kong funny woman Lydia died Tuesday after battling cancer.
Joyce said her mother's funeral will take place in Vancouver, Canada, in accordance with her wishes.
Lydia's body will be buried next to her mother who passed away last month.
For fans in Hong Kong, there will be a memorial service on 2 March at the Hong Kong Stadium, which will be open to the public.
There are also plans to broadcast part of the Vancouver funeral.
A tearful Joyce also revealed that her mother had passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones including herself and Lydia's elder sister.
"I'm lucky to be have so many aunties and uncles to help the family. I will be positive and be a good girl. I'll try my best to be a responsible woman because my mummy would've wanted it," she said. - CNA/ac
