HONG KONG: Four employees of Hong Kong's Television Broadcasts (TVB) and a former staff have been arrested by the city's anti-graft agency.

Among them is Stephen Chan, the general manager of TVB, who was still in ICAC custody.

The four employees have been suspended from duty.

In a statement released by the Independent Commission against Corruption (ICAC), the four were arrested in relation to corruption allegations.

Chan was arrested at his home, and he was escorted to his office at the station's headquarters by ICAC officers for investigation.

Officers returned to TVB's headquarters on Friday, and a spokesperson for the station revealed they interviewed staff from the production and entertainment department.

Chan is probably most recognised as the host of the show 'Be my Guest' on TVB's lifestyle channel, in which he interviews local celebrities and public figures.

The other three staff members are two senior executives of the station, and an actor.

Chan's former assistant, an ex-TVB employee who is now a director of an advertising and production company, was also arrested.

Local reports have speculated the investigation is related to alleged corruption involving TVB's programming, in which those arrested apparently worked with an advertising and production company, that arranged jobs for TVB artistes.
