LOS ANGELES - Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was charged with drunk-driving four weeks after being arrested at the wheel of his car, police said Tuesday.
Sambora, 48, was charged after being stopped in the upscale seaside town of Laguna Beach, south of Los Angeles, on March 25. Roadside tests showed he was more than two times over the legal limit while driving his black Hummer.
He could now face a jail sentence on two charges of drunk-driving.
In June 2007, a spokesman for the guitarist said Sambora was seeking treatment. Several months earlier he had divorced his wife, the US actress Heather Locklear, after 12 years of marriage.
Sambora is a founding member of Bon Jovi, the US hard rock band which has sold more than 100 million albums since its launch in 1983. - AFP/fa
