Popular American hip-hop and pop group, the Black Eyed Peas, will be doing their part for the Sichuan quake victims when they play live in China on Tuesday. The group that is behind the smash hits "My Humps," "Pump It" and "Where is the Love," will perform for a crowd of 700 people at the Shanghai Concert Hall.

The concert was originally planned to be a promotional event for beverage companies Chivas Brothers and Pernod Ricard China. However, in light of the May 12th quake, which has taken some 69,000 lives, the concert has become a benefit in support of the Red Cross relief efforts.

"We will invite our VIP guests, main customers in China, along with media to the concert," said Chivas spokeswoman Vanessa Wright.

Prior to the quake, the group had faced calls to cancel their concert amidst the human rights controversy surrounding Tibet and China. However, the group had decided to carry on nonetheless and asked whether it was right to "punish a whole country." while admitting that the situation in Tibet was "messed up."

Apart from the Black Eyed Peas, the concert will also feature Hong Kong singer/actress Karen Mok, who is fondly remembered for her role in Stephen Chow’s Shaolin Soccer.
