TAIWAN : Hong Kong star Edison Chen hopes to shake off his scandal-ridden past by making his comeback in Taiwan and pop idols Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai could lend a helping hand.

Chen, 28, who previously announced in February 2008 that he was exiting the entertainment industry indefinitely after the sex photo scandal blew up, is now taking steps to salvage his once-tarnished image.

He has landed an endorsement deal with American jeans company Levi’s, his first since his departure from showbiz. Incidentally, the tagline for the ad campaign is "Persevere, never give up".

Known for his trendy style, the latest Levi’s advertisement sees Chen maintaining his boyish good looks while possessing an air of maturity.

And things seem to be looking up for Chen lately. His other endorsement, an Adidas collaboration with Japanese designer Kuraishi has been revealed for the first time in a Taiwanese magazine, indicating that his popularity might not have waned that much.

In an interview with Bang magazine, Chen revealed that he currently spends his time working out daily and has taken an interest to film production. He even hinted at the possibility of producing a film.

Indicating his interest to work with Taiwanese pop idols Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai, Chen expressed that he is a fan of Chou’s work and described Tsai as "very hardworking".

On the possibility of a collaboration, Tsai's manager who was replying on the singer's behalf, indicated that they "will wait until there’s a specific plan and see".
