Organisers of F1 Rocks say event is getting bigger

SINGAPORE : Nicole Scherzinger of American pop girl group Pussycat Dolls has pulled out of F1 Rocks, a three-day concert which is held in conjunction with the Formula One night race in Singapore next week.

The dolls were not scheduled to perform but Scherzinger, the lead singer of the group, was supposed to host the event which begins September 24.

The 31-year-old singer had reportedly broken up with her F1 driver boyfriend Lewis Hamilton and did not want to have anything to do with Formula One or be anywhere near the McLaren driver.

According to British tabloid the Daily Mirror, the couple split last week because Scherzinger kept pushing Hamilton, 24, to settle down. The pair met at an MTV awards party in November 2007.

F1 Rocks organisers have yet to find a replacement for Scherzinger.

F1 Rocks which boasts big names, such as Beyonce, No Doubt and the Black Eyed Peas, will also feature Taiwanese diva A-Mei, who will be performing alongside Jacky Cheung.
