HONG KONG : Hong Kong star Aaron Kwok was reportedly secretly photographed in a changing room during a charity vehicle race in Chengdu on Sunday.
Eastern Daily reported that a man armed with a camera secretly took pictures of the singer-actor in the changing room from a ventilation window.
A sharp-eyed worker spotted the culprit in the act and managed to stop him. The culprit's identity remains unknown.
While in Taiwan promoting his latest film "Murderer", Kwok clarified the photo-taking incident.
"I was chatting in the room at that time and had not changed yet, so nothing was taken."
News of the incident has made Hong Kong celebrities jittery, as some are afraid that they might become the next target.
This is not the first time that a celebrity had been photographed while changing.
In 2006, Gillian Chung from Canto-pop duo, Twins, was caught on photo changing backstage during a performance in Malaysia. Her semi-nude pictures were subsequently splashed all over a tabloid magazine’s cover.
Celebrities were outraged and many were against the invasion of her privacy then and had denounced the tabloid which was eventually fined HK$30,000(S$6,000) in 2008.
Addressing the issue, Kwok said, "Such atmosphere is not good. I hope that society will allow celebrities to have the safe, personal space they need."
