KUALA LUMPUR : A netizen has posted a false report on a Chinese website claiming that Mando-pop singer Nicholas Teo is dead, reported Sin Chew Daily.

According to the report, the Malaysian-born singer had died of complications following a liver transplant. He was recently hospitalised in China for a liver infection.

Teo, 28, was discharged on Monday and has been advised to cancel all prior engagements to recuperate.

According to his manager, all the promotional events and appearances for the rest of the year have either been cancelled or rescheduled, and the singer could lose 500,000 ringgit (S$205,000) in income during his break.
