HONG KONG : Hong Kong star Nicholas Tse has revealed plans to move his family to China for his children’s education.

Speaking with reporters at the set of his upcoming movie “The Informers”, Tse, 29, said that he was impressed with how well former actress Chingmy Yau’s daughters were doing in China and has decided to move his family there so that his kids can receive a bilingual education.

“They speak Mandarin with an authentic Beijing accent and their English with a foreign accent. It is very important to be able to master both languages, it will be very helpful for their future,” said Tse.

The actor added that he intends to send son Lucas, who is currently two years old, abroad for studies when he is older.

Tse and wife, actress Cecilia Cheung, are expecting their second child and she hopes it will be a girl. Tse, on the other hand, has no preference as long as the baby is healthy.

Once dubbed the “bad boy of Canto-pop”, marriage and fatherhood has had a huge impact on Tse. Since tying the knot with Cheung in 2006, the once-brash star has become a “workaholic” as well as a doting husband and father.

“After working hard for so many years, I’ve earned enough to keep my wife and I happy. But because we want a better life for our son, and also because my wife’s no longer acting, I have to work extra hard,” he said.

When asked how Cheung, who is three months’ pregnant, is coping with the pregnancy, Tse said she is experiencing morning sickness earlier this time round but there is no change in her appetite yet.

“Her appetite was really good when she was pregnant the first time. I was shooting the movie ‘Invisible Target’ then and in the middle of the night, she would be craving for McDonald’s and I would have to go out at 4am to buy it for her. When I got home, she would tell me she wanted to eat porridge and I would have to run out to get it and she would throw it all out after eating.

“I had to film a bus accident scene that morning even though I did not sleep the night before. No choice, if my wife needs it, I have to do it.”
