HONG KONG: Actress-host Barbie Hsu, popularly known as Da S, is one of the top earners in the Taiwanese entertainment industry this year. Despite her success, the Taiwanese actress' love life is unfortunately headed in the opposite direction.

The 33-year-old star has been single since her high-profile break-up with actor and F4 boyband member Vic Chou last year. And in August this year, she and Hong Kong actor Louis Koo, her co-star in "Connected" and "Forbidden City: Top Dog", were rumoured to be dating.

The two spoke highly and expressed their admiration for one another, leading to speculation that Hsu has a penchant for dating people within the entertainment industry.

When asked about her thoughts on the speculation, Hsu said, "My social circle is very small. It's either work or family and I hardly get the chance to meet people outside the entertainment industry.

"It is also down to fate. Even if I'm told to get to know more people beyond the entertainment industry, I will not change myself to suit their demands."

Being a star, Hsu has already gotten use to the limelight and being constantly followed by the paparazzi, especially when she is in a relationship. Despite that, she plans to keep her next relationship a hush-hush affair.

"I used to think that being in a relationship was the greatest thing because nothing else can compare with it, and there is no need to hide it. However, after I have calmed down, I realised that it was a very rash decision.

"There is just too much transparency. In the future, if I get into a relationship, it will be low profile as it feels unnatural for people to be watching your every move," Hsu said. - CNA/fa
