HONG KONG : Hong Kong actor Michael Miu was once in the centre of a love triangle with then actress girlfriend Jamie Chik and the late pop diva Anita Mui.

Chik, 47, revealed in a television interview that her now husband, Miu, started dating Mui after the couple split in 1989. The actress too was seeing someone else but the former lovers remained friends after going their separate ways.

Miu and Chik started dating after working together on TVB drama "You Only Live Twice" in 1982. Their romance became public after they were spotted holding hands at the airport when Chik sent Miu off on a work trip.

However, their clash in personalities resulted in a lot of conflicts between the couple and Chik suggested they split in 1989.

Even after their break-up, they would still meet up for meals and Miu would confide in her about his relationship with Mui.

"She (Mui) was a nice girl," said the actress. "I could sense a spark between them..."

However, his relationship with Mui did not work out as they weren't each other's "type", she said.

Miu and Chik later began seeing each other again and finally tied the knot in 1990. They left showbiz to start a family and have since had two children.

The 51-year-old actor, who was dubbed one of TVB's Five Tigers alongside Tony Leung, Andy Lau, Felix Wong and Ken Tong in the 1980s, returned to showbiz in 2004, while Chik made her comeback last year with TVB blockbuster "Born Rich" and even earned herself a Best Actress nomination at the recent TVB Awards.
