BORACAY: Malaysian singer Fish Leong may have tied the knot but the songbird, dubbed the "Queen of Love Songs", will not be retiring just yet, said Chinese media reports.
Leong reportedly said that singing was her greatest love and assured her fans that she will not retire from the music scene after tying the knot.
After her honeymoon, Leong plans to go back to work some time in April to prepare for the release of her new album.
She will also begin her next concert tour in August which will see her performing in countries like Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Leong, 31, married Taiwanese businessman Tony Chao, 34, in a beach wedding on the Filipino island of Boracay on Tuesday. Leong's mentor, singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee, gave her away to her husband in place of Leong's late father, amid cries from bridesmaid singer-songwriter Penny Dai reminding Leong not to cry and smear her make-up.
"I'm the first man who brought her into the music industry when she was 17. Today, I entrust her to the second man in her life," said Lee, a chief witness at the ceremony.
Tuesday's ceremony is the first of three wedding ceremonies that the couple intends to hold. Leong reportedly plans to have wedding ceremonies in Taiwan and Malaysia as well. The total cost for the three events is estimated to be around 1.1 million yuan (S$226,000).
Leong and Chao dated for about two years before finally deciding to tie the knot. The couple will live in Taipei after their wedding.
