HONG KONG: Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu revealed during the couple's second wedding celebration in Hong Kong on Thursday, that he will take a break from showbiz to spend more time with model wife Lisa Selesner and start trying for children, reported Hong Kong media.
"Previously, I was really too busy. To make up for it, I will not be taking on any more film roles and will instead accompany my wife to the US for some rest," said Wu, explaining that he had neglected Selesner last year due to acting commitments.
The couple, who tied the knot in April this year, also announced that they will begin plans for a child in August before gamely posing for photos in front of the swarm of journalists present.
Wu, dressed in a brown suit, kissed and hugged Selesner, who wore a gold low-cut gown as camera flashes went off around them.
More than 500 guests turned up for the lavish banquet that was in contrast to the first round of nuptials.
Only about 30 of the couple's nearest and dearest were invited to their intimate April wedding held in South Africa.
In order to accommodate the couple's numerous friends and associates in Hong Kong who were left out of their first wedding celebration, and avoid disturbing other restaurant guests, Wu decided to hire two event halls for the 'make up' wedding.
The hall on the upper floor of a restaurant at the race course had a stage for live entertainment while dinner was served at the hall below.
The couple donated all the gifts they received at the wedding to charity and gave a nod to conservation by dropping shark fin soup from the menu in favour of chicken soup.
This large-scale wedding celebration will not be the couple's last.
Wu and Selesner also have many acquaintances and family in the US, so they will be hosting a third wedding celebration mid-August in Las Vegas. -CNA/ha
