HONG KONG: Hong Kong actor Aaron Kwok has denied rumours that model-turned-actress Lynn Hung was cohabiting with him because he refused to marry her, reported Chinese media.

The 44-year-old star who graced the opening of a fitness centre in Hong Kong's Mong Kok district on Tuesday revealed that he was dead against cohabitation.

"Don't believe these rumours and fabrications. There is no rejection of marriage or cohabiting. I have not read all the reports but I find it laughable," said Kwok.

"I object to cohabitation. I am just not of that character. I am more traditional. Unless it is after marriage, I won't engage in cohabitation."

When asked if his rumoured girlfriend, Hung, was also a lady with very traditional views, Kwok ducked the question and brought the attention back to the opening.

Kwok's attendance at the opening lent a lot of star power to the event.

The road in front of the fitness centre was closed for four hours to accommodate Kwok's appearance.

Numerous police officers and even a bomb squad were called in to ensure no harm came to the star as he ascended on a man-lift to sign a giant poster of himself posing shirtless.

The event's organisers reportedly hired 30 bodyguards and even bought more than HK$10 million (S$1.7 million) worth of insurance for Kwok as there had been a number of recent incidents where people had acid splashed on them in Mong Kok.
