eBay has twins May and Choy do their bidding

Lunar New Year arrived early this year for popular twins May and Choy, who were handed $7,000 and two weeks as eBay's Style Ambassadors to give their two-bedroom rented condo at Telok Blangah a thorough makeover.

The catch, of course, was that everything had to be bought through eBay.

Self-confessed online shopping addicts, the twins snapped up bargains including a new Philips 32-inch LCD TV that retails for around $2,999 but cost only $1,700, as well as a wooden TV console they bought at almost half its original price.

"Boyfriends will like us when we go shopping because we don't ponder over what to buy," joked May.

But guys hoping for Valentine's Day dates will go away disappointed. The sisters, who are both single, will be throwing a party for their girlfriends in their newly furnished home.

Done up in eBay-bought frocks as they chatted with TODAY on Wednesday, the twins admitted that decorating their home gave them as much satisfaction as hosting.

"When we were younger and still living in Australia, we would even beg to paint our rooms!" recalled Choy.

Based mostly in Kuala Lumpur during the two weeks, the duo had to juggle their time between online shopping and raising funds for their charity projects. "Our friends would look at us incredulously when we told them we had to go home just to shop," recounted Choy.

They were tight-lipped on the size of their endorsement fee, however, though a source from eBay's PR representative acknowledged that it was a "substantial sum". -
