Good news for those of you who enjoyed "Fahrenheit 9/11." The film’s writer and director Michael Moore has begun work on the sequel and it is set to be released next year.
Described as "searing and provocative,” the political documentary will pick up where "Fahrenheit 9/11" left off, examining how America’s role in the world has changed since the September 11 attacks in 2001.
Currently untitled, the new film will be similar in style to his previous works, blending archival footage, humour, research and segments featuring Moore himself.
Though "Fahrenheit 9/11," a scathing critique of US President George W Bush and his decision to go to war in Iraq, grossed US$119 million at the domestic box office to become the most commercially successful political documentary of all time, it did not prevent Bush’s re-election in 2004.
"Fahrenheit 9/11" was awarded the Palme d'Or, the highest honour at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. Moore's other successful films include the Oscar-winning documentary "Bowling for Columbine" and "Sicko" which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature last year.
