LOS ANGELES : The long-awaited "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" is set to premiere in Hollywood on August 10, five days before it hits theatres in the United States.

The computer-animated adventure takes place between the second and third chapters of Lucas' prequel trilogy, "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith".

The film centres on a galactic civil war, with Jedi knight Anakin Skywalker - the future villain Darth Vader - embarking on a mission that pits him and his apprentice against crime boss Jabba the Hutt.

Though few of the cast have reprised their roles, you will be able to hear the familiar voices of Samuel L Jackson (Mace Windu), Christopher Lee (Count Dooku) and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO). Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin in Sith and Clones, has been replaced by Matt Lanter.

"Clone Wars" is the beginning of all-new Star Wars adventures that continue in the fall when the TV series of the same name premieres on Cartoon Network. It is partly created by the Singapore studio of Lucasfilm Animation.
