LOS ANGELES : Miley Cyrus’ Sweet 16 is definitely going to be sweet.

There’s no better place to celebrate the world’s most popular teen, star of Disney’s hit show "Hannah Montana", than at Disneyland.

For this reason, actress-singer Cyrus will have Disneyland shut down on October 5 from 6pm to 11pm, even though her real birthday is not till more than a month later, on November 23.

“I only turn 16 once, so it’s going to be an awesome party with my favourite rides, hanging out with friends, fireworks and more,” she said in a statement. “I’ll even get to sing a couple of songs,”

Seems like even a singing sensation can’t take a break at her own birthday party!

And 5,000 happy fans can join in the celebrations, but only if they can afford to fork out US$250 for a ticket.

A significant amount of the proceeds will go to the charity Youth Service America, an organisation that seeks to improve communities by increasing the number and diversity of young people, ages 5 to 25, serving as volunteers.

“The best part of the party is we’re going to recognise some really cool kids from Youth Service America who are giving back to their community,” she added, “I think it’s really important for kids like us to volunteer.”

Miley, who is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has stirred up some controversy a few months ago over her racy photo shoot with Vanity Fair magazine.
