NEW YORK : Get ready, David Cook fans.

The seventh 'American Idol' is releasing his self-titled debut album come November 18.

Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, who is known for his work with Kid Rock and Green Day, will produce Cook’s debut album.

Cook co-wrote 11 of the disc’s 12 tracks, working with a host of rock veterans such as the Goo Goo Dolls’ Johnny Reznik, Our Lady Peace’s Raine Maida and Chris Cornwell, who penned the first single off the album "Light On".

The 2008 "Idol" theme “Time of My Life” will be a bonus track.

On "Idol", Cook received rave reviews and millions of votes for his hard rock makeovers of pop songs like Lionel Richie’s “Hello” and Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby”.

Not content with just doing covers, Cook says he wants this new album to be a reintroduction of sorts to his fans.

“I came from a background of playing original music,” he said, “and I really wanted to get back to that.”

Cook gave some hints about the songs that were going to be in it, saying the sound he was going for was an “eclectic rock” record, with “rhythmic songs, heavier tracks and sparse instrumentation.”

Songs on the album include the spiralling rocker "Declaration," penned by Cook, Rzeznik and Gregg Wattenberg, which he describes as "open and epic"; "Permanent," a piano and string-backed ballad that showcases the power of Cook's voice; and "Come Back to Me," a soaring number that reaches for U2-like atmospherics.

In late September, “Light On” premiered on AOL Music’s pop culture news site and received over 1 million plays in less than a week.
