LOS ANGELES : Tom Cruise will soon be sharing the big screen with South African actress Charlize Theron in his latest project, “The Tourist”.

The movie is an American remake of the 2005 French thriller, “Anthony Zimmer”, and is set to be directed by the Indian-born Bharat Nalluri.

However, the collaboration between the two well-respected actors is not the only partnership to look forward to.

“The Tourist” will mark yet another collaboration between him and writer, Christopher McQuarrie, who is set to rewrite the script for the movie.

The pair had recently worked on “Valkyrie”, which was written and co-produced by McQuarrie, and is set to open in North American theatres on Christmas Day.

Other post-“Valkyrie” projects already lined up include the film “Flying Tigers”, based on the volunteer fighter squadron formed in World War II, which is to be co-written by Quarrie and Mason Alley.

McQuarrie will also be writing and producing with Guillermo del Toro in another film which also stars Cruise - the previously announced United Artists project “The Champions”.

Despite the slew of films lined up for both Cruise and McQuarrie, the one that is reported to be of greatest urgency is “The Tourist”, which was originally scripted by Juliane Fellowes.

The first “Anthony Zimmer” was directed by Jerome Salle, and starred Yvan Attal and Sophie Marceau. The story tells of an ordinary man who is being chased by the Russian mafia and international police in a manipulative and intriguing case of mistaken identity.
