KUALA LUMPUR : Pop superstar Rihanna's scheduled concert in Malaysia this week has been postponed, organisers said Tuesday, following reports that the singer had been allegedly attacked by boyfriend Chris Brown.
Rihanna's representatives informed Malaysia's Pineapple Concerts that her February 13 show would be postponed to an unspecified date "in light of recent events involving Rihanna," Pineapple Concerts said in a statement to The Associated Press.
The 20-year-old Barbados-born singer had been slated to visit Indonesia and Malaysia on the Asian leg of her "Good Girl Gone Bad" tour. Her Kuala Lumpur show drew publicity after organisers said she would shun skimpy outfits to conform with Malaysia's strict rules on performers' dress.
The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that the woman who reported she had been attacked by Brown in the early hours of Sunday was Rihanna. She had visible bruises, scrapes on her face and even what appeared to be bite marks on her body.
Brown is currently held on a US$50,000 bail.
