HONG KONG: While Hong Kong stars Cecilia Cheung and Gillian Chung have publicly shared their side of the story in the Edison Chen sex photo scandal, one starlet who has been identified as one of the women in the pictures has chosen to remain silent.
Former actress Bobo Chan has remained in seclusion since the scandal erupted in January 2008. Not only was her career ruined, her life was also left in tatters - her engagement to stock marketer Philip Jin was cancelled shortly after the explicit photos flooded the Internet.
Like the other celebs caught in the scandal, Chan worked hard to get her life back on track and with the support of her boyfriend, the 30-year-old opened a nail salon in the city on Tuesday.
Even on the opening day, Chan chose to stay out of the limelight and was a no show. The event was kept extremely low key - there was no ribbon cutting ceremony nor flower baskets in sight.
A reporter's request to take photos of the salon was rejected as well.
