HONG KONG : Popular Hong Kong singer-actress Miriam Yeung's dream of getting hitched was dashed when her businessman boyfriend, Real Ding, reportedly backed out at the eleventh hour.

The couple who have been dating for one and the half years, were supposed to tie the knot last month in Shanghai.

According to reports, Ding felt that the wedding had become too highly publicised and repeatedly convinced Yeung to postpone it. Yeung's mother who reportedly went around spreading news of the upcoming wedding to friends and relatives, could have also contributed to the postponement.

During TVB's Solid Gold Awards held in February this year, the 35-year-old singer announced her desire to get married and it was understood that she had already accepted Ding's proposal at that point of time.

Yeung, who is five years older than Ding, had hoped to hold the wedding in Hong Kong but agreed to Ding's father's request to have it in Shanghai. The elder Ding has businesses in the Chinese city and lives there.
