Tired of reading a 20 chapter book on baby care? Well, watch some TV then!
Local-based company, Megamedia, is currently working on a TV-On-Demand channel called Mom-On-Demand that caters exclusively to the needs of moms and moms-to-be, providing tips and instructions on child caring.
"It is difficult to read about massaging a baby, it is so much easier just to watch it and that’s what the channel is for" said Christine Leow, Executive Producer of Mom-On-Demand.
The programme will cover a wide spectrum of information, starting from the time a woman is pregnant to when she becomes a mother where she has to cope with the family.
Leow said, "And as a mom, sometimes you are so busy, you have no time to read a twenty chapter book that will teach you on breast feeding, or a ten chapter book that teaches you how to raise your kids. You just need the information quickly and sometime you need to see. It gives you information in bite size, at any time you want it."
The Executive Producer of Mom-On-Demand has divided up the show into five areas: Mom to be, Mom and her kids, Mom and her man, Just Mom and Mom inspired. Each of the five is further divided into specific parts, targeting specific problems or needs of a mother.
The idea was to make it useful for recall when a sudden problem occurs.
The show for moms by moms, also took into the account the fact that most mothers often have more tasks and roles to juggle than there are hours in a day.
Beatrice Chia-Richmond, Presenter of Mom-On-Demand said, “Now that I am a mother, I absolutely understand and agree no mother has the time to sit down at eight o'clock exactly and wait for half an hour program and be able to watch it for half an hour."
Airing the show on a TV-On-Demand channel means mothers will be able to catch the programme any time.
"So the bite-size programmes that come on On-Demand are the best for mothers, especially new mothers" said Chia-Richmond.
Mom-On-Demand is available on MIO TV.
