Kamil Haque at the 2004 Athens Games. Haque is the son of one of Singapore's 50 Greatest Athletes, Anwarul Haque.

The crux of the Olympian account occurred in the Archive's Section of the Stadium complex... I got my father to pose next to a picture of Tokyo Games poster. For me, this was truly a touching moment. Seeing my father, who has always been a pretty straight laced man, clearly experiencing an emotional moment was rare as it was heartfelt.

Uncle Raja, where ever you will be going, I know you will continue to watch over this beloved country you helped build. Thank you and rest in peace.

To the late Mr S Rajaratnam,

Undeniably, you are a founding father of Singapore!
I attended your funeral service for 3 reasons:
First, to return a gratitude to a founding father who had deposited an invaluable ideal which calls all Singaporeans to be sure, self-confident and single-minded;
Second, to recognise my responsibility to continue with attaining the ideal; and
Third, to remind my children - the next generation - that it is their responsibility to carry on attaining the ideal.

Like you, Singapore is my homeland and God willing, may my ashes be buried in her dust one day.

Although I'm a foreign worker here in this beautiful country I really can't help but admire Mr Raja's contribution to this wonderful and great island state.
When I read his legacy how I wish we have such this kind of leader in our country the Philippines.

Singapore has lost one of his best son. He left a legacy for the future of singapore. A man who selflessly, untiringly stand by his principle for multi- racialism. Without him singapore will not be what it is today. Let's salute him and fulfil his wish for a one nation one Singapore.
