Kamil Haque at the 2004 Athens Games. Haque is the son of one of Singapore's 50 Greatest Athletes, Anwarul Haque.

The crux of the Olympian account occurred in the Archive's Section of the Stadium complex... I got my father to pose next to a picture of Tokyo Games poster. For me, this was truly a touching moment. Seeing my father, who has always been a pretty straight laced man, clearly experiencing an emotional moment was rare as it was heartfelt.

A TRIBUTE TO
THE LATE S RAJARATNAM
1915-2006

EX-DPM of SINGAPORE!

In solitude!

As one sits in solitude listening to his thoughts,
From past, present, future emerges in varying degrees;
A journey in time to the celestial realm begins,
Bringing the conscious mind and spirit into focus!

All that I remember, all that I have been,
Vividly I could visualize the profound life I lead;
The deeds, how well I cling to the curriculum of past,
To meet the needs of all those who came to me!

Each moment is the shadow of strength,
That still the very existence-
Of time and axis of the current space;
And wait for the next miracle.

Me a simon-pure to those I render my compassion.
The smile the gratitude in return welcome in humility;
At this moment of solitude I surrender my spirit to my God,
A life of temporal has finally come to an end.

Farewell, S Rajaratnam, Bless your Soul!

'We, the Citizens of Singapore...' Words so simple, yet so strong. The younger generation enjoy the fruits of your labour. Multiracialism is the gift that you left to all Singaporeans. And we thank you and remember you, Sir
