Kamil Haque at the 2004 Athens Games. Haque is the son of one of Singapore's 50 Greatest Athletes, Anwarul Haque.

The crux of the Olympian account occurred in the Archive's Section of the Stadium complex... I got my father to pose next to a picture of Tokyo Games poster. For me, this was truly a touching moment. Seeing my father, who has always been a pretty straight laced man, clearly experiencing an emotional moment was rare as it was heartfelt.

Heard about him, read about him, but to know him through the many people who he had helped come to pay their last respects, made me respect him as a good founding father who is great in his desire to help ordinary people.

Growing up in the house next to yours in Chancery Lane, I was very aware that you never failed to come home from work each day in time to have tea on your patio with your beloved wife, Piroska. It was an important lesson that taught me the importance of family life, regardless of how important, stretched, or busy we may think we are. Uncle Raja, thank you for teaching me this, I shall always treasure this lesson. May your soul find its way back to Auntie Piroska at last, andforever. Please rest in peace.
