The crux of the Olympian account occurred in the Archive's Section of the Stadium complex... I got my father to pose next to a picture of Tokyo Games poster. For me, this was truly a touching moment. Seeing my father, who has always been a pretty straight laced man, clearly experiencing an emotional moment was rare as it was heartfelt.

Former Deputy Prime Minister S. Rajaratnam was indeed a political behemoth of Singapore's history. His contributions to Singapore's cause, both at home and abroad, were immense. At a time when Singapore was a
fledgling and insecure nation, his wit and diplomatic finesse were especially critical in building up Singapore's standing in the international community. Singaporeans will miss you dearly.
