SINGAPORE: Small and medium sized companies may find the going rough amid the economic downturn. But that has not stopped some youngsters from aspiring to be entrepreneurs.

20 youths aged between 10 and 18 got down to making products for sale as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The five-day training course aims to impart basic business skills to the students, before they start selling their wares at a flea market at Metropolitan YMCA on November 23.

Its organiser said all proceeds will be donated to charity.

Professor Wong Poh Kam, Director of NUS Entrepreneurship Centre, said: "They were trained in generating ideas about how to make money. I find that the youths have shown a lot of enthusiasm and interest."

The Global Entrepreneurship Week will bring together millions of young people across the globe through online and local activities, which encourage them to think innovatively, nurturing future entrepreneurs. - CNA/vm
