SINGAPORE: Technology companies in Asia remain confident of maintaining strong growth over the next 12 months despite the current financial turmoil. That's according to a survey by Deloitte of the top 500 fastest growing technology companies in Asia Pacific.
These companies registered average revenue growth of 707 per cent over the past three years.
The survey also found that chief executives from the Technology Fast 500 companies plan to increase their focus on the Asia Pacific market next year.
They believe that the region will remain stronger than other world markets.
So far, 44 per cent of companies surveyed said they have felt no significant impact from the current market downturn.
65 per cent of CEOs polled said their investment plans remain unaffected and more than half anticipate workforce growth of more than 26 per cent in the next 12 months.
Three Singapore companies have been ranked among the top 500 fastest growing technology companies in Asia Pacific this year.
They are software companies SkyQuestCom Global China and ASKnLearn, which came in 11th and 320th positions respectively, while semiconductor manufacturer Sunpower Group came in 433 overall.
Taiwan's semiconductor manufacturer, ILI Technology, was the overall winner of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2008. - CNA/vm
